Our natural vegetable base and botanical base candles do not release the toxins that paraffin candles emit. Paraffin wax is a petroleum product, made from by-products from refining oil. The soot for paraffin wax can contain carcinogens, neurotoxins, and reproductive toxins. Testing and air chamber analysis by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has found chemicals that can pose a health hazard with continuous exposure to these materials over time. All natural vegetable base and botanical base candles effectively eliminate this problem because the wax is not derived from petroleum based products, there are no toxins or carcinogens, there is very little or no soot if the wick is trimmed and maintained properly. All of our candles are biodegradable, environmentally friendly, and burn 50% longer than paraffin wax.
